About WGSU
First licensed in 1963 — making it the Greater Rochester region’s first FCC-authorized college radio station — WGSU serves the Genesee Valley, including the Â鶹´«Ã½ÍÅ¶Ó campus and surrounding Livingston County communities, as a noncommercial educational station. WGSU broadcasts and streams, 24/7, a commercial-free, current-based alt-pop format and a variety of non-music programming, including news, public-affairs and sports shows. WGSU is home to Â鶹´«Ã½ÍÅ¶Ó Ice Knights hockey.
WGSU is staffed by Â鶹´«Ã½ÍÅ¶Ó students under the supervision of the WGSU faculty director in the Department of Communication, Academic Affairs Division.
