Want to gain early acceptance to a Doctor of Podiatry program?

A partnership program with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) School of Podiatric Medicine facilitates early admission and guarantees �鶹��ý�Ŷ� two spots in each year’s student cohort. A student may apply to LECOM as a high school senior or up until completion of junior year at �鶹��ý�Ŷ�. Based on a successful interview with LECOM staff, students will be offered provisional admission to LECOM Doctor of Podiatry Program.

LECOM’s School of Osteopathic Medicine will accept any �鶹��ý�Ŷ� BA or BS degree accompanied by LECOM prerequisite coursework. The following �鶹��ý�Ŷ� degrees are those most aligned with LECOM’s admission requirements.

Program Highlights

Early hands-on experience and a holistic approach to patient care with an emphasis on lower extremity.
Assessments to prepare students for national board exams.
Exceptional facilities at LECOM, including a newly constructed space dedicated to the School of Podiatric Medicine.
A broad range of clinical training experiences from outpatient inner city to rural clinics, sports medicine, inpatient care, and the Senior Living Center associated with the Institute for Aging, all part of the LECOM Health System.
Rotations and interactions with the residents at the LECOM Millcreek Community Hospital’s podiatric medical and surgical residency program.

Early exposure to dentistry in the first year by directly assisting and observing the third-year student dentists’ interaction and treatment of their patients in the LECOM Dental Group Practices.

Want to gain early acceptance to dental school?

A partnership with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) School of Dental Medicine facilitates early admission and guarantees �鶹��ý�Ŷ� five spots in each year’s student cohort to qualified students. A student may apply to LECOM as a high school senior or up until completion of junior year at �鶹��ý�Ŷ�. Based on a successful interview with LECOM staff, students will be offered provisional admission to LECOM.

LECOM offers the DDM degree through a full-time, four-year pathway with the first three years at the Bradenton, FL, campus and the fourth year either at the Erie, PA, or DeFuniak Springs, FL, dental clinics.

Want to gain early acceptance to chiropractic college?

�鶹��ý�Ŷ�’s Partnership Program with the Northeast College of Health Sciences lets students save time and money while securing their admission into Northeast’s in-demand Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) program. The 4+3 track lets students complete their degree at �鶹��ý�Ŷ� and gain acceptance to Northeast when requirements are met. The 3+3 track saves students the cost of one year of tuition by allowing them to earn their bachelor’s degree from �鶹��ý�Ŷ� and graduate degree from Northeast one year sooner than it would take to earn the degrees individually. The program is open to students earning degrees in biochemistry, biology, biophysics, chemistry, and neuroscience.

Doctors of Chiropractic diagnose and treat many conditions affecting the nervous and musculoskeletal systems. They focus on adjustment of spinal vertebrae to support the nervous system, which promotes proper function of the whole body. Additionally, they use exercise and soft tissue therapies to address issues in the bones, nerves, muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

Why study biochemistry at �鶹��ý�Ŷ�?

The biochemistry major is a challenging program for ambitious students who are interested in how physical and chemical processes determine how living things work.

Students develop a great deal of camaraderie with their peers, based on studying and researching together in the Integrated Science Center. Opportunities to work with faculty on their own research projects provides hands-on experience with sophisticated equipment, much of which is usually found only at the graduate level.

Program Highlights

More than 40 percent of �鶹��ý�Ŷ� undergraduates take on a research project.
Majors are encouraged to present their work at local or national meetings and symposia.
Graduates perform well on national assessment exams, with several students scoring in the 90th percentile or above.
Graduates are routinely sought after by graduate schools and employers.
The Association of American Medical Colleges ranks �鶹��ý�Ŷ� 12th in New York State for undergraduate institutions supplying 50 or more applicants to U.S. medical schools in 2020–21.
