Dr Wilder joined the School of Business in February 2025. She uses her experience as an economist, face to face and online instructor and academic administrator to promote a forward thinking and student focused academic experience for students and faculty. Her passion for equity and opportunity has driven both her research and her pursuit of accessible education built on the application of the liberal arts and personal growth.

Through years of experience, it is her mission to help students and faculty have the most effective environment in which to learn, teach and discover new knowledge by making sure that the programs they are engaged in are relevant and the highest quality.

Dr. Wilder's research in economics explores the connections between demographics and income inequality with a focus on preferences for redistribution and the impact of structural changes. She is passionate as well about the evolution of pedagogy and access to higher education. She has embraced high impact, hands-on learning through study abroad, project based learning and mentoring undergraduate research.

Office Hours for faculty and students are Tuesday and Thursday 3-4pm. You may also schedule a meeting.

The �鶹��ý�Ŷ� School of Business hosted its second annual Founders Forum on October 23rd at the �鶹��ý�Ŷ� campus. This event provides students interested in entrepreneurship with an excellent opportunity to hear from entrepreneurs at various stages of their entrepreneurial journeys.

This year's Founders Forum featured three alumni and one current �鶹��ý�Ŷ� student. Alum Seth Mitchell shared his experience starting Radiant Powder Coating in Buffalo. Rick Alvarado discussed his transition from a corporate environment to founding his own fractional CFO business, the Lenark Group. Tim Tobin, another alum and Executive in Residence anchored the panel. He shared his origin story for the highly successful company Planatome.

Our student speaker this year was Jack Conti, who won the first annual VanArsdale Business Pitch competition in the spring of 2024 with her podcast business, Genucast. Sarah Escolas and Melissa Burdick rounded out the panel by sharing their journey in creating THRIVE Co-Work in Honeoye Falls.

The speakers also provided valuable insights on the importance of networking. During the reception following the event, the Founders offered one-on-one meetings. Overall, it was another successful session.

After a hiatus, the School of Business restarted it's Executive in Residence for a day program! This fall semester they brought five individuals back to campus. We curated a schedule for each executive based on their experiences and interests. Thank you to Tim Tobin ‘89, Robert Walley ‘83, Tim Ostrander ‘03 and Lee Woodring ‘93 for sharing their wisdom with students. A special thanks to Robert Murray ‘83 who not only served as the first Executive in September but whose leadership has been vital in re-establishing this program in the School of Business.

Under the leadership of Dr. Ian Alam, Distinguished Teaching Professor, the School of Business hosted the 5th Annual Marketing Student-Practitioner Conference on Friday, October 18, 2024.

Themed "Marketing in the Age of Digital Transformation", the conference featured 13 marketing professionals and practitioners, including several �鶹��ý�Ŷ� alumni from diverse industries, who shared their personal journeys and professional experiences with students. In an era where technology continues to reshape the world, businesses face the ongoing challenge of how to effectively connect with their customers. The conference explored real-world strategies for business success in this digital age.

Approximately 110 students participated in this engaging event, representing all six business-related majors, as well as psychology, sociology, communication, international relations and mathematics. Under the guidance of Dr. Alam, the conference offered students an invaluable opportunity to deepen their understanding of marketing discipline, explore career paths in this dynamic field, learn effective job search strategies, and develop essential soft skills needed to succeed in the real business world. Most importantly, it served as a source of inspiration for the students to choose marketing as their career.
