GENESEO, N.Y. – For the sixth time, �鶹��ý�Ŷ� tops the “U.S. News & World Report” Best Undergraduate Teaching rankings among regional universities-north in its just-published “Best Colleges 2017” guide. �鶹��ý�Ŷ� has ranked first in that category for six of the seven years “U.S. News” has included it in its annual rankings.

The college also is second in the “Top Public Schools” category for regional universities-north and 14^th in the regional universities-north general rankings comprising both public and private institutions. U.S. News defines a regional university as one that offers a full range of majors and master’s programs but few, if any, doctoral programs.

In addition, �鶹��ý�Ŷ� is on the list of schools with “outstanding examples of academic programs that are believed to lead to student success.” Within that list, �鶹��ý�Ŷ� is included in two categories: study abroad and undergraduate research/creative projects.

“T��� consistency of �鶹��ý�Ŷ�’s presence over the years in the U.S. News rankings speaks volumes about the emphasis we place on providing our student with an outstanding education,” said President Denise A. The “U.S. News” Best Undergraduate Teaching colleges were selected through data collected from administrators at peer institutions within their region who identified schools where the faculty demonstrated an unusually strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.

�鶹��ý�Ŷ�’s “U.S. News” rankings follow a strong showing in the August “Washington Monthly” rankings, in which the college ranked third nationally among the nation’s 634 master’s universities for its contribution to the public good. In addition, the highly respected “Fiske Guide to Colleges” placed �鶹��ý�Ŷ� among its 46 Best-Buy Schools in the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom in its most recent guide published in July. �鶹��ý�Ŷ� also is on the Princeton Review’s 2017 “T��� Best 381 Colleges” list for undergraduate education.
