ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ΝΕΆΣ makes another appearance in the Fiske Guide to Colleges. Inclusion in the guide is based on the quality of academic offerings and includes studentsβ social and quality-of-life ratings.
Fiske's 2023 edition notes that ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ΝΕΆΣ offers students a serious academic environment at an affordable price and attracts high achievers who are taught by attentive and responsive professors. It noted ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ΝΕΆΣβs small class size, with 35 percent of classes having fewer than 20 students; leadership opportunities; honors courses; scholarships; and robust study abroad program. βΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ΝΕΆΣ offers students the best of two worlds,β says the guide. βGiven its size, professors can provide the kind of personal attention normally seen only at private liberal arts colleges; because of its public status, all that attention comes at a bargain price.β
Fiske Guide to Colleges was created by former New York Times education editor Edward Fiske, who launched the guide to provide better information on educational choices for college-bound students and their families. Three hundred schools are featured in the current edition.
