Aunt/Uncle - Christine Cawley ‘91

Quote: Christine and her niece always had a close bond, but when Laney decided to come to �鶹��ý�Ŷ� they became even closer. Christine credits �鶹��ý�Ŷ� and her experience in Sigma Kappa Sorority and as a Resident Assistant as the foundation of what continues to be most important to her to this day. Christine’s wish for her niece is that she makes the same strong connections that last her lifetime, firmly believing it’s the people that make this place extraordinary.

Aunt/Uncle - Julie Fiegl Kwoka ‘88

Quote: Ben’s mom, Terri, shared that Ben was reluctant to visit “state schools” during his college search but his Aunt Julie kept pushing her nephew to visit �鶹��ý�Ŷ�. When Ben finally agreed to visit �鶹��ý�Ŷ�, it was “LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT.” After his visit, every other school was compared to �鶹��ý�Ŷ� and no other school measured up. Ben applied early decision and the rest is history. Ben and his aunt always shared a special connection with each other, they now share an exceptional love of �鶹��ý�Ŷ�.

Quote: For Debbie and Jeff, �鶹��ý�Ŷ� holds many memories. �鶹��ý�Ŷ� is where they first met and become friends in Genesee Hall in 1986 and then started dating in 1987…they’ve been together ever since! �鶹��ý�Ŷ� was their home away from home and where both made lifelong friends. While �鶹��ý�Ŷ� has changed a bit since they graduated, they still felt at home when they dropped their daughter Abbey off at Niagara Hall.

Quote: Julie’s grandmother not only attended �鶹��ý�Ŷ� but taught at the Holcomb Campus School in the 1970’s. In the 1990’s, Nancy earned her masters degree from �鶹��ý�Ŷ�, with instructors who worked with her mother at Holcomb School (Jane Hogan and Norm Bauer). Shirley taught for 30+ years, Nancy is in her 26th year of teaching and now the third generation is a first-year student, majoring in Elementary Education.

Parents - Meg (Greve) ’91 & Brian ‘92 Rose

Quote: Brian’s dad (Skye and Griffin’s grandfather) was the Men’s Lacrosse and Wrestling coach here from 1970-1980. Brian grew up in �鶹��ý�Ŷ� (even attended the Holcomb Campus School) and after he moved away decided to “come home” to �鶹��ý�Ŷ� to attend college. Brian and Meg met at �鶹��ý�Ŷ�. For both of them, �鶹��ý�Ŷ� became their home away from home and remained a special place in their hearts. It almost seems likes destiny, that for the third time, the Rose family returned “home” to �鶹��ý�Ŷ� when both Skye and Griffin made their college choices.

Quote from John: As a student, �鶹��ý�Ŷ� was boundaryless for me. From a two-week tour of Italy with Chamber Singers, installing the first Ethernet network in Fraser, to representing students in the College Senate, my interest and initiative were met with student friendship and faculty mentorship. As alumni of �鶹��ý�Ŷ� who live and raise our family in �鶹��ý�Ŷ�, we are on the bonus square for the �鶹��ý�Ŷ� experience. Our family enjoys performances, lectures and all the opportunities the college makes available to the public. Our former professors have become lifelong friends and mentors to our children. We are proud to be alumni and now parents.

Steven built lifelong bonds, friendships and memories with his fraternity brothers…truly a special place. Quote: Kim wrote that Alex’s college search began and ended with �鶹��ý�Ŷ�. �鶹��ý�Ŷ� was the first and only campus the family visited and Alex was so sure about her decision to attend �鶹��ý�Ŷ� that she applied early decision with no back-ups. It obviously worked out and Kim was filled with tremendous pride when she moved her daughter into her first-year residence hall. For Kim, �鶹��ý�Ŷ� will always be a place of fond memories and great accomplishments for their family.

Quote: Emily’s great-grandmother, Bernice, valued education and instilled a love for learning in her children and grandchildren. Bernice’s love of teaching inspired Lisa to attend �鶹��ý�Ŷ� and become a teacher. �鶹��ý�Ŷ� quickly rose to the top of the list when Lisa’s daughter Emily started looking at colleges. �鶹��ý�Ŷ�’s challenging academic program, highly ranked athletic teams, welcoming people and charming setting all combine to make it a favorite in their family.
